The Lun Bawang Association (LBA) Kuching Branch had organized a mini showcase of the Lun Bawang festival that will be happening this coming 31st May in Lawas, which also in the same time commemorates the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Kuching Branch.
A brief information about the LBA Kuching Branch:
It was formed back in the 1980 by the earlier groups of Lun Bawang whom had leaved their homeland, migrated and moved to Kuching to better their living condition. Seeking further education and employment opportunities. The branch was headed by Patrick Panai, a secondary school teacher from Ba’ Kelalan.
LBA Kuching Branch 32nd Anniversary Magazine – “Aceh Terawe, Aceh Rurum”
In conjunction with the 32nd Anniversary, LBA Kuching branch have announced to publish an official magazine as a way to introduce the Lun Bawang community. The magazine contains articles about the Lun Bawang community in general, and a gallery of pictures of previous activities of the Lun Bawang in Kuching.
The magazine can be purchased at RM35 and the proceeds of the magazine will be used to fund future activities.
The Mini Irau Aco Lun Bawang was held on the 12th May 2012 at the Godown Amphitheater, Kuching Waterfront and was officially opened by YB Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk A bang Haji Openg accompanied by our patron YB Datuk Henry Sum Agong.
